A rainy day = bad light for photography?

What to do on a rainy and boring Saturday afternoon? Grab your raincoat, grab your camera and go out!

Bad light?

Most of you prefer to follow their passion of photography on sunny days or when there is spectacular light in the air. Me too (normally…)! On rainy days the light is flat, weak, pale and has no contrast. This all means “bad light”. Really? You know the slogan “There is no bad weather, just inappropriate clothes”? I like to change this in “There is no bad light, just inappropriate photography”… 🙂

Every light has its own character

If you look on the following samples of last Saturday you will remark that most of them benefit of this flat light with low contrast. These pictures couldn’t be made in bright sunshine or would have at least a total different style and effect. Especially in the city plenty of architecture details can be found. And for rewarming the next espresso-bar is not very far…
