Winter has finally arrived here in the flatlands of Switzerland 🙂 . In spite of heavy snow flurry I grabbed my camera and my warmest clothes last saturday and got out to shoot some winter landscapes. Fortunately the countryside isn’t far to reach from Zurich, so after an hour in the train/bus I started my hike over a hill named “Irchel”. It’s in the so-called “Zürcher Unterland” between Neftenbach and Buch am Irchel.
On my way I also passed at “Schloss Wart”, a kind of manor house (see picture below). Built by Baron Max von Sulzer-Wart in 1889 and sold 1912, is it owned since 1935 by the “Philanthropic society”. It looks quite strange amongst the rural environment in this area…
After about 5 hours in the snow I enjoyed the heated bus to bring me back home where a hot cup of coffee and a big chunk of yummy apple-pie were waiting for me… 🙂
